God is with us
-
God is omnipresent. He is present everywhere at the same time. The psalmist states that no matter where we go, God is there (Psalms 139: 7-12)
"Whether shall I go from thy Spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou are there: if I make my bed in hell, behlod thou art there." Psalms 139:7-8
-
God is omniscient. He knows every thing. He knows not ony our actions, but also our thoughts. When the Bible speaks of God's foreknowledge, it means that He knows all things possible as possible, all things certain as certain, all things contingent as contingent, all things foreordained as predestined certainties.
"Great is our Lord, and of great power: His understanding is infinite." Psalms 147:5
O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether." . (Psalm 139:1-4 NKJV)
"Elect, according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied." 1 Peter 1:2
-
God is omnipotent. He is all-powerful and has ultimate authority over all things and all creatures.
"Ah Lord God! Behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee," Jeremiah 32:17
-
God is eternal. He is from everlasting to everlasting. There was never a time, either in the past or the future, where God did not or will not exist, He is not bound by human time, and is, therefore, best described as "I am"."
"Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlastintg to everlasting, thou art God." Psalms 90:1,2
"And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." Exodus 3:14
"Jesus said unto them, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." John 8:58
-
God is unchangeable. There is no change in God's attributes, in His perfections or in His purpose for mankind.
"For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed." Malachi 3:6
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and commeth down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neithershadow of turning." James 1:17
-
God is perfect and holy. He is completely without sin and absoltuely reighteous. God cannot sin. His holiness also included His dedication to carrying out His purposes and plan.
"The Lord is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works." Psalms 145:17
"For I am the Lord your God; ye shall threfore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy:" Leviticus." 11:44a
-
God is triune. He is one God who has manifested Himself in three divine persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is fully divine, equal with the other two, yet they are not three Gods, but one.
"Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied." 1 Peter 1:2
